3-12 months
Aged Child Care
Baby Room
The Baby Room at First Steps Crèche & Preschool welcomes our youngest children, aged 3 to 12 months. This is a precious stage of rapid growth and discovery, where babies begin to explore the world through their senses.
From gentle floor play and soothing music to soft toys and responsive care, every moment is focused on building secure attachments, supporting early development, and nurturing curiosity in a calm, caring environment.
1 - 2 years
Aged Child Care
Wobbler Room
The Wobbler room, at First Steps Creche & Preschool, caters for 1 to 2 year old children. This is such an important stage in a child’s development, when they are really exploring their environment with intent! Everything is exciting for them, from filling and emptying, throwing balls, running fast, and dancing and singing!
In the Wobbler room the main milestones that children will typically reach include various domains Including physical, cognitive, social and language development.
2-3 years
Aged Child Care
Toddler Room
The toddler room is dedicated to children aged 2 to 3 years old. Our toddler room encourages development through fun activities, play and child lead learning within the national framework of Aistear and Síolta curriculum.
Our curriculum is interactive, helping children to develop speech and language skills. The development of children’s own personality is paramount in the toddler room as we practice slow relational pedagogy to create agentic global citizens.
3-4 years
Aged Child Care
Junior Preschool
The Junior Preschool Room at First Steps Crèche & Preschool is designed for children aged 3 to 4 years – a key stage for developing confidence, independence, and social skills.
Through play-based learning, group activities, early literacy and numeracy, and creative exploration, children build strong foundations for their transition to primary school, all within a fun, nurturing, and stimulating environment.
4-5 years
Aged Child Care
Senior Preschool
The Senior Preschool Room at First Steps Crèche & Preschool is designed for children aged 4 to 5 years, as they prepare for the exciting move to primary school.
At this stage, children are becoming more confident learners, developing key skills in communication, problem-solving, early literacy and numeracy. Through a balance of structured activities and free play, we support each child’s growth in a fun, engaging, and supportive environment that encourages independence, curiosity, and a love of learning.

Sensory Pod
The Sensory Pod is an affordable, calming and relaxing space for our Children. This calming space is full of amazing features.
The Sensory Pod has a mood light ceiling which is calming and relaxing. It can be changed instantly to the favoured colour. The space is fun, relaxing and appealing to any child, to spend any length of time. Sensory Pods like ours are being used successfully in Special Needs environments , seeking an Autism Friendly Environment.
